The Lesson

I am beyond thrilled to be making my Savage Wonder debut as The Maid in The Lesson. We’ll be up every weekend in June in Beacon, NY.

Tickets here!

“Eugène Ionesco’s savage absurdist masterpiece tracks the moment teaching becomes domination, and language becomes a blunt instrument of power. What unfolds is funny until it isn’t.

The setting is a parlor. The hour is afternoon. A professor and a student. A lesson that begins in politeness and ends somewhere else entirely. Between them, a blackboard — the oldest technology of authority — chalked over and erased, chalked over and erased.

Ionesco wrote The Lesson in 1951. It has not aged. What it describes is present in every institution that has ever called itself a place of learning: the seduction of the pedagogical relationship, the violence hiding inside grammar, the smile that precedes submission. The play is over before you understand what just happened.

Come expecting a lecture. Leave having received none.”

The Lady’s Got Time

Meet Judy and Chris. They’re just like any new couple... if every couple’s first kiss sent them back in time, that is! Now stuck in Connecticut in the year 1940, Chris and Judy run into Judy’s ex-fiancee, his potentially psychic ex, and his meddling parents,... all while trying to figure out how to get back to the present day!

This new play by Hannah Herbert Hunt is a romantic comedy about how it isn’t always about the right time... but rather the right person.

Sunflower

A Short Film by Resistance Pictures

In March 2022, I had the honor of acting in the short film Sunflower. You can watch my supporting performance here.

The film is dedicated to the strong people of Ukraine. Telling the story of two sisters in the crosshairs of invasion, writer and director Yoko Higuchi wanted to evoke what it might be like to be in the middle of a horrifying conflict. There is no room in this world for such bloodshed.
